Welcome to "Drag it to the Bottom"; the latest musical masterpiece from the avant-garde jazz trio of John Dikeman on saxophone, Nicolas Field on drums, and Thomas Florin on piano, it will not fail to drag you to the bottom. This album is a tribute to the sport of boxing, but not just any boxing - we're talking about the kind of boxing where the gloves are made of jelly and the ring is floating on a sea of jello.
The track titles, "One Step at a Time"; "One Punch at a Time", and "One Round at a Time" are a nod to the absurd world in which this album was created. It's a world where the only way to win is to keep moving forward, even when you're getting punched with cotton candy gloves.
The concept of the "Crab Syndrome" is taken to new heights on this album. It's a world where the crabs are playing the bongos and trying to drag each other down into a bottomless pit of custard. But don't worry, our trio is fighting back with their musical prowess, battling against the crabs and their sticky, sweet embrace.
The music on this album is a celebration of the absurd, a celebration of the human spirit, and a celebration of the power of perseverance. The saxophone screeches like a seagull being tickled, the drums thunder like a herd of unicorns galloping, and the piano tinkles like a fairy playing hopscotch on a rainbow.
So sit back, relax, and let your ears be the ringside judges as our trio steps into the jello ring. From the opening notes of "One Step at a Time" to the final chords of "One Round at a Time" you'll be taken on
a journey through a world where anything is possible, and anything can be overcome.
So let's Drag it to the Bottom and come out on top. And remember there is no way to win this game so just keep moving forward.
THANK YOU
Thanks to all of you that supported us and no thanks to those that stood against us. Penultimately, a very special thanks to those that opposed us and fought to keep us down. And lastly, to those that stood in silence as we acted, looking the other way, allowing us to do as we willed without consequence or admonishment, let it lay heavy upon your soul.

An example of all that is good in live modern jazz improvisation - I particularly like the involvement of the baby and the musicians in the open textures at the beginning of Masquerade Charade - very lovely, very immediate, very real. David Roberts
